“Good artists copy; great artists steal.”
Apparently Pablo Picasso said this, and while it might seem controversial on the surface, every great entrepreneur or artist was once where you are now, and their hustle began by “stealing” the lessons and tactics of other greats who went before them.
Description
It was Pablo Picasso who once famously said that while “good artists copy, great artists steal.” While this might seem controversial on the surface, every great entrepreneur started exactly where you are now, and their hustle began by stealing the lessons and tactics of other great entrepreneurs before them.
The fact is Great entrepreneurs and businesses fully understand the dynamics of the world they are operating in but use a different perspective to solve challenges or create opportunity. Plus they know this skill of copy cating from those who are already doing it great.
If you dont know who you’re selling to, what the problems are you can solve for them, then you’re working towards failure rather than success. The point is: understand who you want to solve what for first and then kick ass along the way.
Look at businesses or entrepreneurs that are doing well and copy cat the principles of what is working well for them in order to flip or adapt these for your business, category or brand vs starting from scratch.
In order to innovate, you have to look at your business ideas or brand with different perspectives. For example if youre a fashion brand, apply the lense of how a tech brand would show up in the world to your category & see how different your thinking becomes.
When your perspective changes everything changes.
